Active 24 Fitness & Leisure Centre was Galway’s first 24-hour gym and members can enjoy full use of the gym all day and all night. So whether you are a night owl or an early bird, you now have the option of joining us at any time of the day.
Swimming
Active Fitness & Leisure at The Connacht Hotel has numerous swimming pools. We also have separate children’s pools and health suites which includes a Sauna, Steam Room, and Jacuzzi. As a result, private or group swimming lessons are available for both adults and children. The swimming pools are open Monday-Friday from 6.30am – 10pm and Saturday & Sunday 8.00am – 10pm. However only adults are permitted after 8.00pm and swim hats are compulsory!
The purpose built aerobics hall offers a variety of classes to suit all levels of fitness for both men and women. During peak times, it eliminates overcrowding while ensuring you get an excellent workout. We provide you with professional instruction and a safe, effective, well balanced and fun workout and you can always consult the timetable for our current schedule.
The gym is equipped with the latest cardio and strength training equipment. Life Fitness treadmills, bikes, recumbent bikes, steppers, cross aerobic and Concept II rowers, promoting maximum strength and fitness in a safe and pleasant way. Each cardio machine is designed to ensure safe, effective aerobic fitness while conditioning the muscles.
The sleek Galileo range of strength training equipment is by Cybex, the world’s leading manufacturer of strength training equipment. Due to its excellent bio mechanics and innovative design features. Converging axis technology, allows for a more natural motion, improving results by exercising the body the way it was designed to work.
